Policies

Payment Process: Please pay with cash or write a check payable to Stephanie Price at either the beginning of each lesson or for a month’s payment of 4 lessons.

Policy for teacher absences: If Stephanie has a professional obligation or a situation such as an act of God that does not allow her to teach on your scheduled lesson day, she will notify you ahead of time at either the lesson prior to your next lesson or via email. Stephanie will then coordinator another lesson time and day to make up for her absence.

Snow days: Unless you hear otherwise, Stephanie will be available to teach on school- declared snow days. Often roads are cleared by late morning or early afternoon, but please use your judgment. It is your decision whether or not you feel it’s safe to travel. If you feel driving conditions are hazardous, please call to reschedule.

Policy for student absences (makeup lessons): If you are absent due to a school event, professional obligation, or a situation such as an act of God that does not allow you to attend your scheduled lesson day, you must notify Stephanie ahead of time at either the lesson prior to your next lesson or 24-hours prior via email. Stephanie will try to accommodate make up lessons, when possible, but tuition will not be reduced for missed lessons.

Trial Lessons: If you or your student are not sure about where you would like to take private lessons I am happy to give one paid trial lesson with no commitment that you will be staying in the studio full time. If the student would like to progress with their instrument after the trial lesson I am happy to arrange a reserved time in my studio for the student.

Financially need based scholarships: For families that are in financial situations that push musical studies to the side, I am comfortable with talking with you about your current situation and how we could find either an outside source to donate a portion of money to the students private lessons or comprise a portion* of lesson fees with volunteer work. Volunteer work would include helping me with organizing the Studio Recital, Studio Performance Class, Scales Class or offering a talent of your own that would support the Price Studio. *Note: I am only able to offer a small portion of fees to be reduced from lesson payments in trade for volunteer work. This is my full-time job and I have loans and bills to pay. I offer this option because I care deeply about providing students with the opportunity to study music, because I know down the road music can be a life changing experience no matter what direction it takes you in.

How to apply for financially need based scholarships: Please email me through the contact page and then we can arrange a time to speak over the phone. Only a small percentage of students will receive a scholarship according to their financial situation and scholarships will be reviewed monthly. If the student does not keep up with their instrument or instructions given by me and/or the parent does not follow through with their volunteer work, the scholarship will be withdrawn.
